Probe finds Palin unlawfully pressured former state trooper

Sarah Palin, the governor of Alaska and John McCain’s running vice-presidential mate, was found to have unlawfully abused her authority during a dispute with the state’s public safety official, Walter Monegan. A legislative committee’s investigation of the dispute, which culminated in the firing of Monegan, found that Palin had pressured Monegan to fire an Alaska state trooper, a task he refused to carry out.
