Historic gov’t rescue for the financial sector: What lies ahead for the nation’s economy?

For the past two weeks, Congress and the Federal Reserve have been searching for the best solution to the current financial crisis. The crisis, which has been roiling throughout Wall Street over the past month, has prompted an unprecedented government bailout of $700 billion. In times of financial crisis, the country sees declines in the stock market, deteriorations in bank balance sheets and increases of uncertainty. Certainly these characteristics fit the economy now as Congress has been analyzing the $700 billion bailout bill, followed closely by the Federal Reserve to somehow come up with a mutual solution to this crisis. ... Men’s Club Rugby gears up for another strong season

When you hear Rugby what comes to mind? A huddle of guys going up and down a field running into each other - it sounds like football right? However, the sport of Rugby is much different. It was created about 70 years before American football. There are 15 players on each side, eight forwards and seven backs. The primary task of the backs is to advance the ball by running, kicking and passing. Furthermore, the forward’s job is to gain and maintain possession of the ball. Letter to the Editor: In response to ‘Letter from disappointed alum’

Last week I read a letter from an Alumni suggesting that since their graduation in 2007, this school has become way too overbearing on it’s student body. Basically, the complaint was that you couldn’t get away from the cops, and the ever-present security officers. Just two weeks before, I sat in calculus class and listened to a boy telling a story how at a party that was busted the officer stated "I’m tired of all these drunk college kids," to which the student said to his friend, "I mean come on man, this is Salisbury, it’s a party town!" ...
