Fire damages several OC businesses on boardwalk

A nine-alarm fire blazed through Ocean City’s boardwalk Dough Roller on March 30, causing severe damage to the area, police officials said. "There was one minor injury to a firefighter. Student Athlete Spotlight: Sue Ackermann

Susan Ackermann, the 5’7" Salisbury University senior, grew up in Sykesville and attended Liberty High School. Ackermann plays attack for the Salisbury women’s lacrosse team and has been the Capital Athletic Conference athlete of the week for the second time in as many weeks as she led the Sea Gulls over No. 8 Bowdoin. During the past week she scored 11 goals and recorded 11 assists in three games. For the 2008 season, she leads the team in goals (48) and assists (37). Currently, she ranks second all-time in school history for points and assists and is third in goals. ... Read full story..
